Introduction #
Every user on OnPing has an account and a set of data associated with that user account. This document shows how to access the User Settings page and update the information about your account
The User Settings Page #
On the top menu bar of OnPing, you will see the user icon as the second last element on the bar.
Clicking on the icon will open the drop-down menu as shown below. Click on “My User Settings” to access your settings page.
That will open up the User Settings Page. There are multiple sections on the page.
Email: This is the unique email address your account is created with.
Username: The unique username associated with your account. This will show up in different places on OnPing and on some reports.
Timezone: Your time zone.
Phone: Your mobile phone numbers. If any alarms are set to notify your mobile, this is where the notification would be sent.
Notification Options: Indicates how you would like to receive notifications for alarms set on OnPing.
Session Timeout: Indicate the time duration after which you will be forced to log back into the OnPing platform.
Two-Factor Authentication: OnPing supports two-factor authentication for an additional layer of security. Click on the checkbox to activate it. Clicking on the Orange button named “Logout of All Devices” will automatically log you out wherever you are logged in. This provides a layer of security in case you worked on a client’s machine and forgot to log out. You could now log out remotely.
Dashboard: This is the default dashboard that will be presented to you any time you log into OnPing.
The next three fields set the groups you belong to and your default group. You cannot add a new group that’s higher than your assigned group in the hierarchy of authentication but can add one that’s lower.
On the right side of the user data, you will see two boxes with information about your Group assignments and the name of groups you belong to.
The next section is on setting up your integrations. OnPing integrates with GitHub. This provides an easy way to access SVG images from GitHub repositories while creating the HMI panels.
Underneath that are the settings for Two Factor Authentication. If you have activated Two Factor Authentication above, this is where you will set it up. OnPing enables 2FA Thorough Oauth applications.
The next section allows you to change your password. Please ensure your password is a strong one.
Below is a list of factors that helps you come up with a strong password by calculating and displaying a score representing how secure
the password is.
